A CURE FOR HALLOWEEN
‘Fire In Cairo’ bring their CURE tribute back to The Forum on Halloween Weekend, Saturday 27 October. Admission is just €5, doors are at 9pm and the band take to the stage for 2 hours of Cure classics at 9.30pm. Feel free to come in fancy dress as the live gig will be followed by The Forum’s legendary Halloween Ball.
Out of all the bands that emerged in the immediate aftermath of punk rock in the late ’70s, The Cure were arguably the most interesting, enduring and popular. Their appeal has continued to grow with each new generation of ‘Cure-Heads’ and in fact 2012 has probably been their biggest year to date, having headlined major festivals like Reading/Leeds, Roskilde and Electric Picnic for the first time. A couple of years ago, 5 Cure enthusiasts under the name ‘Fire In Cairo’ thought to give Irish Cure fans the chance to don some eyeliner, a brush of mascara and relive the 80′s! They cover all classic Cure songs from the debut release 3 Imaginary Boys, through the hairspray and glitter of the 80′s era and right up to the bands position as 90′s alternative pop darlings. So expect a set-list including ‘Boys Don’t Cry’, ‘A Forest’, ‘The Lovecat’, ‘Inbetween Days’, ‘Close To Me’, ‘Why Can’t I Be You’, ‘Friday I’m In Love’, ‘Lovesong’, and many more fan favourites. Catch them at The Forum on Saturday, 27th October and don’t forget to dress up for the ball!
