The Crow on your Shoulder, a new play by Waterford playwright Eimear Cheasty, will premiere during the Imagine Festival.
Taking inspiration from the Celtic myth of the Morrigán, the play is set in present day Ireland, and centres around the character of Misha and her desire to exact revenge on those responsible for the death of her younger brother. Exploring the theme of revenge and its outcome, it also poses questions regarding the role of females in a male dominated environment. The venue for the piece is a local music venue, which gives the cast and crew an opportunity to experiment with the dynamics of audience participation, incorporating live music and dance as methods of telling Misha’s story, as well as giving the audience a different theatre going experience.
