'A spirit-raising concoction' – Irish Times
The Oireachtas Festival in Dungarvan, Co.Waterford in November 1994 was the firstplace where Benny McCarthy, Donal Clancyand Donnchadh Gough from Co.Waterford with Dubliner Daire Bracken, the first members of Danú met up. They have since evolved into one of the most important Traditional Irish ensembles of recent years, winning multiple awards in the process. Danú have just released their new album, 'Sanchas', their first for five years. They have toured the world many times over, playing for paupers and presidents alike, live performance being the very essence of the band. Their Imagine gig is sure to be one of this year’s festival highlights.
